Year End Awards Program
HPECA Highland Pony Annual Awards Program
1.The Performance Awards are open to all Purebred and Partbred Highland Ponies who are registered with the Highland Pony Society and reside in the US and Canada and are owned or leased by individuals who are members in good standing with HPECA.
2. Two sets of awards with be given: 1) High Point, Reserve High Point and 3rd place High Point to ponies ridden by adults and 2) High Point, Reserve High Point and 3rd place high point ponies ridden by juniors. A pony may be entered into both adult and junior competitions with different riders but a separate fee must be paid for each category and the pony cannot be entered more than once in each category.
3.Competition is to run from 1st January to 31st December.
4. Competitors must remit the entry form and the fee of $15.00 per pony/category must accompany the entry by 1/31 of the year following. For example- we must recieve entry for performances in 2020 by 1/31/21.
5. A Performance card will be provided for each pony/category entered. Competitors need to fill them out and return to the awards chairman- Lynn Schwab- lynn@lynnschwab.com.
6. All equestrian activities are covered. If your particular activity is not on the list below, contact HPECA and we can make adjustments.
7. Placings to sixth place will receive additional points as follows:

8. All cards must be provided to the Secretary by 31st January in the year following competition.

Points are to be awarded as follows:
- For all dressage tests and horse show classes (which include in hand classes, jumper classes, hunter classes, under saddle classes, driven classes, pleasure, reining, games, costume, speed events, 5 points will be awarded for completion plus the points value of any placing received). The classes can be open, M & M or breed specific. Classes are not limited to those listed here. Please contact the awards chairman to ensure that they are added to the list.
- For all combined tests, ridden or driven, 10 points will be awarded for completion in addition to the points value of any placing received.
- For all three phase horse trials, 15 points will be awarded for completion, in addition to the points value for any placing awarded.
- For Competitive Trail and Endurance Trail rides, 10 points will be awarded for completion, in addition to the points value of any placing received. The pony will also receive 1 point per mile covered.
- For TREC events, 15 points will be awarded, in addition to the points value of any placing received.
- For Judged Pleasure rides, 10 points will be awarded in addition to the points value of any placing received.
- For Working Equitation shows, 10 points will be awarded in addition to the points value of any placing received.
- For mounted shooting events, 5 Points will be awarded.
- For hunter paces, 5 Points will be awarded in addition to the points value of any placing received.
- For pony club rallies, 5 points will be awarded.
- For official clinics, 5 points will be awarded.
- For parades, 5 points will be awarded.
- For participating in Expos and public exhibitions, as well as participation in Celtic Fairs, community exhibits or public service such as providing forestry assistance, 5 points will be awarded per half day and 10 per full day.
- For pleasure trail riders and drivers who log their own miles, 1 point will be awarded per mile.
