Highland Pony Breeders in North America
MCCLELLAN HIGHLAND PONIES-
We imported A'Bhaisteir of Talisker (Fergal) who was foaled in May of 2005 as our foundation stallion, he received his stud license in 2008. He carries the old department bloodlines on both his Sire's (Corriegarth Rhidorroch) and Dam's (Lyncrests Monique) side. Rhidorroch has sadly passed away, leaving Fergal as one of only two intact stallions descended from him. Luckily Fergal inherited his sire's gentle disposition.
We purchased Fionchoire of Talisker (Flo) who flew from England in December 2008. Her Sire is Grouse of Langley, her Dam is Princess of Dykes. She settled in very well considering she was a month in transit!
Since then Fergal and Flo produced two stunning filly foals for us, Hamara of McClellan and Samhradh of McClellan. In 2015 he sired a colt with Ceol Beag Fiaray

TRINITYGLEN HIGHLAND PONIES-
https://www.facebook.com/TrinityglenHighlandPonies/
www.trinityglenhighlands.com
Trinityglen breeds the traditional type of Scottish Highland pony, using classic Champion lines. The ponies make excellent children's mounts for low level hunter/jumpers, combined training and dressage. They are brave, bold and have a heart of gold. They love to drive, be it driven Dressage, pleasure or combined driving.
Our goal is to produce Highlands that are suitable for a variety of levels and disciplines to satisfy the amateur to professional competitor, as well as pleasure rider. I have looked and acquired stock that will excel in dressage, low level three day eventing, children's and a/o jumpers, pleasure driving, combined driving, as well as breeding stock, and trail riding.
Trinityglen Highland Ponies wants to assist in the preservation and promotion of this amazing pony. We want to educate the equestrian community here in North America about this incredible native breed. In doing so, we have attended numerous expos, Celtic Fairs, as well as competitions that include in hand, ridden, driven, and competitive trail. The ponies have excelled in whatever venture we have performed in. They have impressed competitors and spectators alike.
We have Circle H Glen Livit at stud. He has won multiple championships in hand as well as under saddle in both Mountain and Moorland shoes, as well as traditional shows in Nevada and California. We also have two up and coming stud prospect our of imported bloodlines. We do have young stock occasionally available.

Beacon Hills Highland Stud , Iowa
Balmoral Archer- HPS Approved Stallion
Live Cover and AI Available
https://www.facebook.com/beaconhillshighlands/
Beacon Hills Highland Stud was formed in 2018 after careful study of the breed, to continue the survival of this endangered equine and bring joy to those who encounter them through all activities pursued, ridden or otherwise. The stud is run by Alison Herr, with goals to widen the gene pool through concerted breeding efforts in North America and bring greater awareness to endangered species and the breed through public education, pony club and other venues.
After more than a decade of teaching hunter/jumpers and running the local pony club riding center Alison took a step back for a few years to focus on family and personal horses. With the kids growing up it led to the pursuit of a diverse pony Alison and her daughters could ride, doing a variety of activities, and Beacon Hills was developed. Friendships were formed through many conversations with breeders in the Uk, as Alison wanted to ensure a solid understanding of the breed before jumping in to this venture. A couple trips to Scotland was also had, to view stud farms in person and watch the ponies in their natural environment.
Our first three stock were carefully selected to embody the breed type, and imported from the UK coming from Balmoral, Croila and Mendick studs. We are very grateful to HM the Queen for our stud Balmoral Archer, and look forward to his influence on the American Highland herd. Our stock has quality bone, fluid movement, a true pony head, calm temperament and trainability. We plan to have a limited number of foals the first few years of breeding, some of which will be available to approved homes.
The ponies are part of our family and are ridden by children and adults alike. Their strong build and ability to take up your leg, gives the opportunity for adults to also ride a shorter mount that still feels like a big horse. We strive to continue their high-quality temperament and ability to go in the show ring, yet be kind and thoughtful under saddle and in handling with riders of all ages.
Visitors welcome by appointment, feel free to contact us or visit our facebook page.
